PLAYHOUSE WEST - PHILADELPHIA ACTING SCHOOL
OFFERING A CLASS SERIES ON
FILM ANALYSIS
What separates the great, classic movies of lasting value of importance from all the rest?
Each 6 hour class, taught by Tony Savant, will deconstruct three classic films to explore writing, directing, acting and cinematic contributions the film artists made in telling these stories.
We will go through each film, scene-by-scene, breaking down the essential principles in screenwriting, story construction, directing, acting, cinematography and filmmaking, discovering what the filmmaker and actors did to dramatize the theme/premise and the spines of the characters. Content includes deconstructing the characters, including their three-dimensional design to understand how they were created specifically to tell this story.
A serious, detailed, intense, faced-paced class, instructive for all actors, writers, directors, producers… literally anyone in the business of making movies.
